In one sentence
SkillSwap is a peer-to-peer learning platform where people exchange skills using Skill Points (SP) instead of only paying cash for lessons.
It’s built for fast, practical learning with real people — not endless pre-recorded courses. You can start as a learner, become a tutor over time, or do both.
How it works at a high level
- Create a profile with the skills you want to learn and the skills you’re happy to teach. You can do this in a few minutes in the account setup guide.
- Get smart matches with people whose skills and availability fit yours.
- Book live 1:1 sessions (video calls) with people who fit your goals. Learn more in Book your first session.
- Earn Skill Points when you teach, and spend points when you learn.
How SkillSwap is different from classic course platforms
- Live, human-to-human sessions — focused 1:1 time instead of only static video courses.
- Smart matching based on skills, timezone, language, reliability and more – not just search.
- Skill Points economy that rewards teaching and makes learning more accessible.
- Gamified progress with XP, levels and badges that track your growth across all skills.
Who SkillSwap is for
- Students & young professionals who want to level up skills without paying for every single lesson.
- Freelancers & founders who can teach what they know and swap it for skills they don’t have yet.
- Career switchers & explorers who want real conversations with people already doing what they want to do.
