When should you report something?

SkillSwap is a community built on trust, respect and real human collaboration. If someone acts in a way that makes you feel unsafe, disrespected, or uncomfortable, you should report it immediately.

Common reasons to report include:

  • Harassment, aggression or inappropriate behaviour
  • Offensive or discriminatory language
  • Spam or unsolicited promotion
  • Unsafe behaviour during a video call
  • Repeated session no-shows or time abuse
  • Suspicious activity or impersonation

How to report inside the app

There are two ways to report someone:

1. From a user’s profile

Open their profile → click Report. You can choose a reason and provide a short description.

2. From inside a chat

Open the chat → click the options menu → Report user.

What happens after you report

When you submit a report:

  • Our system flags the account for review
  • Your identity remains fully confidential
  • Depending on severity, the user may receive warnings, temporary restrictions, or account removal
⚠️
You are never penalised for reporting in good faith.

Emergency situations

If you believe someone is in real danger or experiencing a crisis, please contact your local emergency services immediately.
