How verification emails work
SkillSwap may send you an email to verify your address when you create an account or update your email. Verification adds an extra layer of trust and helps you recover your account if you ever lose access.
If you don't see the email, follow the steps below before trying again.
Step 1 — Check Spam / Promotions
Many email providers filter new senders by default. Start by checking:
- Your Spam folder
- Your Promotions or Updates tab
Look for a message from no-reply@skillswap.io or hello@skillswap.io.
Step 2 — Make sure your email is correct
A small typo in your email address will prevent the message from ever arriving.
- Go to Account settings and double-check the email you entered.
- If there's a typo, correct it and request a new verification email.
Step 3 — Add us to your contacts
Adding SkillSwap to your contacts tells your email provider that our messages are safe.
- Add no-reply@skillswap.io to your contacts.
- Add hello@skillswap.io to your contacts.
Step 4 — Request a new link
Verification links expire after some time for security reasons. If you clicked an old email and saw an error, simply request a new one from the app.
Step 5 — Company / university email issues
If you're using a work or university email, internal filters or IT rules may block external messages.
- Try using a personal email address (e.g. Gmail, Outlook).
- Or ask your IT/admin to allow messages from @skillswap.io.
