Quick checks first

If SkillSwap isn't loading or the page is stuck on a spinner, start with these simple checks:

  • Make sure you're connected to the internet.
  • Confirm you're opening app.skillswap.io in a modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firefox).
  • Try reloading the page once or twice (Cmd/Ctrl + R).
Pro tip: If you're on a laptop, test another site (e.g. a news page). If everything is slow, the issue is likely your internet connection, not SkillSwap.

Step 1 — Try a private/incognito window

Sometimes browser extensions, cached data or cookies can interfere with loading.

  • Open an Incognito/Private window in your browser.
  • Go to app.skillswap.io and try signing in again.

If SkillSwap works in incognito but not in your normal window, the problem is likely cache, cookies or an extension.

Step 2 — Clear cache & cookies for SkillSwap

Clearing cached data for the site often fixes loading loops or blank screens.

  • Open your browser settings.
  • Find the option to clear site data / cookies for app.skillswap.io.
  • Reload the page and sign in again.

Step 3 — Disable aggressive extensions

Ad blockers, script blockers, VPNs or privacy extensions can sometimes block necessary resources.

  • Temporarily disable ad-block / script-block extensions for app.skillswap.io.
  • Refresh the page and see if it loads normally.

Step 4 — Try another browser or device

If possible, try SkillSwap from another browser (e.g. Chrome instead of Safari) or another device.

  • If it loads on a different browser: the issue is with your original browser setup.
  • If it doesn't load anywhere: it could be a temporary issue or connectivity problem.
If the app fails to load across multiple devices and networks, take a screenshot and contact hello@skillswap.io with details (time, browser, device).
